What’s New in the Treatment of Binge Eating Disorder
This course is designed to help clinicians be better able to identify ways to create strategies for treatment of BED. We will paying particular attention to Adolescents and their unique needs. Topics ranging from psychological risk factors, clinical tools and working with families of BED adolescents will be covered.
We also will be addressing the nutritional impact of BED and assisting attendees to better understand ways in which nutritional counseling is used with this population. Special attention will be placed on the language used when working with this population as well as updates on the “gut-brain” connection and working with adolescents.
Lastly we will take a look at the myriad of medications used to treat obesity and the potential use for those with BED. Discussion about FDA approved interventions will take place as well as information regarding effectiveness of treatments being used.
